NEURA Robotics expands to Hangzhou – building global bridges for Physical AI

Hangzhou, China, October 16, 2025 – NEURA Robotics, the European pioneer in cognitive robotics, is deepening its presence in the Chinese market with the opening of its new site and collaboration hub in Hangzhou. The NEURA Hub will serve as a focal point for the development of data-driven robotics training and partnerships with major Chinese industry leaders. The opening marks a significant milestone in NEURA’s global strategy, positioning the company at the heart of Asia’s robotics world while keeping its identity firmly rooted as a European innovator with a global mindset.

Future in Motion: A New Era for Robotics in China

The biggest hurdle in robotics is the global data gap: humanoid AI models currently have 120,000× less training data than mature large language models, severely limiting their ability to generalise and perform complex, real‑world tasks. The Neuraverse is NEURA’s answer to this challenge – a global infrastructure that collects, connects, and distributes real‑world robotics data to create a worldwide ecosystem that enables every connected robot to learn faster and perform better. With the launch of the Hangzhou site, NEURA Robotics continues to expand the Neuraverse, which now includes the first NEURAGym in China. The NEURAGym is a unique physical training and data collection centre, where robots can ‘learn’ real-world tasks, collecting data that can be shared throughout the Neuraverse. This unique approach to physical AI accelerates the development and deployment of humanoid and cognitive robots by uniting real-world data, applications, and partners from simulation to on-site use.

Gateway for Global Collaboration

The Hangzhou hub will not only drive local talent growth, and joint projects with Chinese partners, but also provide international companies with direct access to China’s robotics ecosystem. This opens the door to cross‑border innovation, market entry, and collaborative projects – all feeding into the Neuraverse.

Securing Strategic Partnerships

During the grand opening ceremony, NEURA Robotics will sign partnership agreements with major Chinese and international companies such as Alibaba Cloud. These alliances will enable joint innovation, physical data collection, and large-scale deployment of NEURA’s technologies across industries.

Event Highlights

  • Grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony
  • Live demonstrations of NEURA’s humanoid and service robots, integrated into the Neuraverse
  • Launch of the first NEURAGym in China, showcasing how data-driven training accelerates robotics innovation
  • Networking opportunities for decision-makers, government representatives, and media
  • Insights from NEURA CEO and founder David Reger, industry leaders, and robotics ecosystem partners

The opening event brings together over 250 representatives from more than 120 companies across China, Europe, and other regions, including partners, customers, suppliers, financial institutions, investors, and research organizations. Their presence reflects the growing recognition of NEURA Robotics as a key innovator in the global robotics industry and the strong interest in collaborative development through platforms such as the Neuraverse and the NEURAGym.

David Reger, Founder and CEO of NEURA Robotics, commented: “The Neuraverse is to robotics what iOS or Android were to smartphones – the platform where innovation happens and scales. With the Hangzhou hub and the first NEURAGym in China, we are taking a major step towards becoming the operating system of global robotics. If you want to win the race of humanoid and cognitive robotics, you need to partner with the biggest Chinese players. We are proud and grateful for the high interest from so many leading companies to go this way with us.”

About NEURA Robotics

Founded in Germany in 2019, NEURA Robotics has scaled rapidly across continents with one clear mission: to make robotics a global solution to some of humanity’s greatest challenges – from labor shortages and aging societies to productivity and sustainability. The award-winning innovators from Metzingen follow a consistent “one-device” approach across their entire product portfolio – from industrial to household robots. With the Neuraverse, the company is creating the foundation for the iPhone moment of robotics, bridging the gap between technology and humans. All core innovations, including AI, are developed in-house. NEURA’s cognitive robots can see, hear, and have a sense of touch. They act fully autonomously and learn from experience. Today, NEURA is on the path to bringing the first general-purpose humanoid robot to market, supported by a rapidly growing global partner network.
