Across industries, warehouses are under constant pressure to operate faster, safer, and more efficiently. Meeting these demands requires more than automation; it calls for intelligent collaboration between humans and machines. Together with SAP and BITZER, a global leader in refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump technology, NEURA Robotics is turning this vision into reality.
In a groundbreaking joint proof of concept, BITZER’s warehouse in Rottenburg, Germany, became the testing ground for 4NE1, one of Europe’s most advanced humanoid robots developed by NEURA Robotics. Through an Embodied AI proof of concept developed on the SAP Business Technology Platform, SAP S/4HANA for Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) successfully interacted with the humanoid robot 4NE1. 4NE1 successfully performed real-time picking tasks autonomously while remaining in sync with SAP’s business logic.
Project Embodied AI Meets Enterprise
The project combines SAP’s embodied AI and enterprise system with NEURA Robotics’ innovations. This integration enables cognitive robots like 4NE1 to dynamically interact with digital processes, adapt to last-minute order changes, and support warehouse teams during peak demand — all while continuously sharing operational data within SAP EWM.
Before entering the physical warehouse, 4NE1 underwent extensive virtual training in NVIDIA Isaac Sim, ensuring a seamless and safe deployment in real-world conditions.
Real Impact in Everyday Operations
The potential impact of this innovative system is significant. By integrating Embodied AI into warehouse operations, BITZER can achieve 24/7 utilization and unprecedented responsiveness. The technology can support human expertise, stepping in during demand fluctuations and peak periods, and complement regular shifts with flexible, scalable support. This ensures that operations remain agile and efficient, even under pressure. Thanks to a Single Source of Truth, orders can be expanded or cancelled in near real-time, with robots executing changes almost instantly. This improves reaction times and enables BITZER to maintain high service levels while optimizing resource use.
“We are excited to join the embodied AI initiative with SAP and NEURA,” said Christian Stenzel of BITZER. “This collaboration will enhance our operational efficiency and drive innovation in our processes.”

A Milestone for European Innovation
For NEURA Robotics, this partnership marks an important step toward a future where humans and intelligent machines collaborate naturally. “Seeing NEURA Robotics and SAP working together on this milestone makes me incredibly proud,” said David Reger, Founder and CEO of NEURA Robotics. “We believe robotics is the next big thing for Germany and Europe, and we’re determined to make it happen through strong partnerships.”
By combining AI, robotics, and enterprise software, NEURA Robotics and SAP are redefining industrial logistics, proving that the future of automation is not about replacing humans, but about enhancing their capabilities and efficiency.

About NEURA Robotics
Founded in Germany in 2019, NEURA Robotics has scaled rapidly across continents with one clear mission: to make robotics a global solution to some of humanity’s greatest challenges – from labor shortages and aging societies to productivity and sustainability. The award-winning innovators from Metzingen follow a consistent “one-device” approach across their entire product portfolio – from industrial to household robots. With the Neuraverse, the company is creating the foundation for the iPhone moment of robotics, bridging the gap between technology and humans. All core innovations, including AI, are developed in-house. NEURA’s cognitive robots can see, hear, and have a sense of touch. They act fully autonomously and learn from experience. Today, NEURA is on the path to bringing the first general-purpose humanoid robot to market, supported by a rapidly growing global partner network.
