Physical AI as an opportunity for our future: Cem Özdemir visits NEURA Robotics

On November 28, 2025, we at NEURA Robotics had the special pleasure of welcoming Cem Özdemir to our site in Metzingen—the place where we are shaping the future with cognitive robotics. In conversation with our founder and CEO David Reger, the discussion focused on the major issues of the future: technological sovereignty, the role of robotics in a sustainable society, and the positioning of Baden-Württemberg as a global technology hub.

Intelligent automation as a driver of the future

At NEURA Robotics, we are convinced that physical AI is the key to overcoming social challenges such as demographic change and the shortage of skilled workers. With intelligent automation, we can increase productivity, relieve the burden on workers, and create space for what makes us human: thinking, feeling, and creating. Our cognitive robots are designed to support people in industry, care, and everyday life in a safe, intuitive, and flexible way. For NEURA, people are always at the center: our intelligent technology opens up new opportunities for creativity, social interaction, and sustainable business.

Social dialogue – politics meets entrepreneurial spirit

Cem Özdemir’s visit showed that politicians are seeking dialogue and value entrepreneurial spirit and optimism. This is important in order to jointly determine goals and the right framework conditions for the future of Germany as a business location. In Baden-Württemberg, we have a strong industrial base and a high level of innovation. In order to fully realize this potential, speed of implementation and close cooperation between all stakeholders are crucial. It is noticeable that robotics and automation are increasingly seen as an opportunity in politics as well – for example, when it comes to securing prosperity and reducing the burden on the world of work.

NEURA Robotics: Technology for people

During the tour of our production halls and laboratories, we were able to demonstrate with 4NE1 that Germany deserves international leadership in humanoid robots – and that cognitive robots such as MiPA, MAiRA, and MAV are already being used in a wide variety of areas today:

  • for assembly support in manufacturing
  • as assistance systems in care and rehabilitation
  • in logistics with autonomous mobile robots

Looking ahead

NEURA represents the beginning of a new era of entrepreneurship. We will continue to increase our pace of innovation and intensify our cooperation with industry partners, educational and research institutions, and political actors. With our Neuraverse, we are creating an open ecosystem that allows robots around the world to connect, share what they have learned, and acquire new skills—including an open marketplace for new applications. This will make Germany the epicenter of the world’s largest future market!

Cem Özdemir’s visit was both a confirmation and an incentive for us: if we design cognitive robotics responsibly, it will become the key to sustainable progress and greater humanity.

About NEURA Robotics

Founded in Germany in 2019, NEURA Robotics has scaled rapidly across continents with one clear mission: to make robotics a global solution to some of humanity’s greatest challenges – from labor shortages and aging societies to productivity and sustainability. The award-winning innovators from Metzingen follow a consistent “one-device” approach across their entire product portfolio – from industrial to household robots. With the Neuraverse, the company is creating the foundation for the iPhone moment of robotics, bridging the gap between technology and humans. All core innovations, including AI, are developed in-house. NEURA’s cognitive robots can see, hear, and have a sense of touch. They act fully autonomously and learn from experience. Today, NEURA is on the path to bringing the first general-purpose humanoid robot to market, supported by a rapidly growing global partner network.
