NEURA Robotics and Zimmer Systems enter into strategic partnership

  • Two strong technology partners from Baden-Württemberg join forces for the next generation of flexible automation solutions
  • Kick-off with joint automation concepts and concrete industrial use cases
  • In the long term, Zimmer will become a key partner for cognitive robotics applications and the Neuraverse ecosystem

Metzingen / Rheinau, February 13 2026 – Two leading companies from southwestern Germany are taking the next step toward the future of automation together: Zimmer Group and NEURA Robotics have entered into a strategic partnership. The goal is to develop new, competitive automation solutions that meet the growing demands of the industry – ranging from components and end-of-arm tooling to applications and scalable system solutions.

At the heart of the cooperation is the shared ambition to make automation more flexible, faster to integrate, and more cost-effective – thereby providing concrete support to companies in effectively addressing the shortage of skilled workers and rising productivity demands.

The ideal partner for the Neuraverse

Zimmer contributes decades of experience in gripping technology, system components, effectors, and demanding industrial applications – from machine tending and special-purpose equipment to intralogistics and woodworking. This depth in engineering, application, and industrialization makes Zimmer an ideal partner not only to develop cognitive robotics but also to bring it into widespread use.

Looking ahead, Zimmer will take on a central role in the Neuraverse – the ecosystem NEURA is building as a platform for robotics and Physical AI. The goal is to create an environment in which partners can develop, test, deploy, and continuously improve solutions more quickly – across different robotics form factors.

NEURA: Pionieer of cognitive robotics – from use case to platform

NEURA Robotics complements Zimmer’s industrial strength with the dynamism of a globally scaling tech company: with cognitive robots that can see, hear, feel, work safely alongside humans, and learn from real-world data. The portfolio ranges from AMRs to cognitive manipulators, all the way to humanoid robots – including the Neuraverse platform layer, which orchestrates capabilities, data, and deployments across the board.

David Reger, Founder and CEO of NEURA Robotics: “Zimmer is an ideal partner for us – because they not only supply components but also master real industrial applications and are able to scale them. Together, we are developing solutions that immediately relieve companies while simultaneously building the next evolutionary stage: cognitive robotics that can be integrated faster, can be used to take on more tasks, and continuously improves.”

Focus: Flexible automation solutions to counter the shortage of skilled workers

In the first step, the partners will jointly develop automation concepts and applications that can be quickly transferred into real production environments. In the medium term, the cooperation will be expanded – with the aim of industrially standardizing cognitive robotics solutions and making them widely available through the Neuraverse ecosystem.

Achim Gauß: “This partnership is a genuine win-win: Zimmer brings deep industrial knowledge, application expertise, and implementation capability – NEURA brings platform thinking, speed, and cognitive robotics. Together, we can make automation significantly more flexible and bring it into industrial practice faster.”

About Zimmer Group / Zimmer Systems GmbH

The Zimmer Group is one of the world’s leading manufacturers in automation, linear motion, and damping technology. Zimmer Systems GmbH drives growth in five technology areas: system components, end-of-arm tooling (EOAT), gripping systems, mobile robotics and transport systems, as well as automation cells, modules, and complete machines and plants.

About NEURA Robotics

NEURA Robotics was founded in 2019 by David Reger to close innovation gaps and usher in the age of cognitive robotics. The multi-award winning innovators from Metzingen have adopted a consistent ‘one-device’ approach across their entire product range, from industrial to household robots. The basic idea is a ‘smartphone with arms and legs’ that combines central components and sensors for physical artificial intelligence in a single device. The company’s Neuraverse platform paves the way for an ‘iPhone moment’ in the field of robotics and closes the gap between people and technology. Key innovations and technological components, including AI functionalities, are developed in-house at NEURA Robotics. As a result, NEURA is setting new standards in physical AI, precision and safety: NEURA cognitive robots have vision, hearing and tactile senses. They act autonomously and learn from experience.
