Metzingen/Berlin, October 2, 2025 – NEURA Robotics, a pioneer and technology leader in cognitive robotics, announces the acquisition of ek robotics – one of the most experienced specialists in driverless transport systems (AGV/AMR) worldwide. NEURA thus gains over 300 employees, more than 60 years of experience, and a strong customer base from ek robotics, significantly expanding its expertise in the field of mobile robotics.
A new boost for mobile robotics
This step combines the strengths of both companies:
• NEURA brings its own mobile robotics solutions and a strong order book to the structures of ek robotics. This creates the basis for the company to implement existing customer orders faster and more efficiently.
• ek robotics will continue to implement high-performance intralogistics solutions with its proven product portfolio. Existing customer service will remain unchanged and will be further expanded in cooperation with NEURA Robotics. At the same time, NEURA will integrate innovations and cognitive technologies into the ek robotics portfolio to further develop its products and jointly lead them back to the top of the industry.
• By integrating them into Neuraverse, all systems become part of a globally unique platform that connects robots, enables them to learn, and thus continuously improves them.
Globalization and growth
While ek robotics has previously had a strong presence primarily in Europe, NEURA’s global sales network opens new market opportunities for the AGV specialist. NEURA’s own locations in China and the US, as well as close industry partnerships, create the basis for accelerating joint growth in the long term.
A joint milestone
With this acquisition, NEURA is also taking a major step toward global market leadership. ek robotics contributes many years of intralogistics expertise, experience, and market presence; NEURA complements this with innovative strength, scaling, and a unique platform strategy.
David Reger, founder & CEO of NEURA Robotics: “The acquisition of ek robotics is much more than an acquisition: it is the dawn of a new dimension in mobile robotics. Together, we will combine existing strengths with our platform, bring innovations to market faster, and create a global offering that sets new standards. We not only want to continue ek robotics’ products but also make them the global benchmark again with new energy and new ideas. This is a win for customers, for our partners, and for all employees. At the same time, it is a strong signal that Germany and Europe have the ambition to be at the forefront of this largest market of the future.”

About NEURA Robotics
NEURA Robotics was founded in 2019 by David Reger to close relevant innovation gaps and usher in the age of cognitive robotics. The multi-award-winning innovators from Metzingen pursue a strict “one-device” approach across their entire product range, from industrial to domestic robots. The idea behind this is a smartphone with arms and legs that combines all the central components and sensors for physical artificial intelligence in one device. With the “Neuraverse,” the company is creating the conditions for the iPhone moment in robotics and closing the gap between technology and humanity. Fundamental cognitive abilities, a security and operating system, and an open development environment enable the scaling of robotics applications in an unprecedented way. A growing range of apps and autonomous learning open up a wide field of application for robots of all designs in everyday social life, as well as unprecedented flexibility and cost efficiency in automation.
The robotics hub emerging around NEURA is attracting many international market leaders. NEURA Robotics has established partnerships with Kawasaki Robotics, Omron Robotics and Safety Technologies, Delta Electronics, and other leading manufacturers.
All the innovations and technological components required for this success, including AI, are developed in-house by NEURA Robotics. This has enabled new standards to be set in physical AI, precision, and safety. NEURA’s cognitive robots can see, hear, and have a sense of touch. They act completely autonomously and learn from experience. Today, with more than 700 employees, NEURA is well on its way to launching the first humanoid general-purpose robot on the market. At the opening of OMR in May 2025, the world’s first household and service robot, called MiPA, was unveiled in Hamburg.
